Sr. Highers, don't forget that this Friday night we are having a Backwards Progressive Dinner. We will leave from the church at 6pm for the Arnold's home and eat dessert. Now don't think that this will become a habit, but for this one time you will be able to eat dessert first.
Then from there we will go to the Schmidt's home in Plano for the main course. After that it is on to the Sadler's home for salad and we will finish the four course backwards meal off at the Hernandez home for appetizers. And by the end of the night you should be stuffed.
Don't forget that you need a medical release form to be able to participate in this event. You can get one from Aaron or download one off the website. Just make sure you bring it. I would hate for you to have to hear later about all the good food we had.
All right see you Friday...and bring your appetite.

JV Council Time...
We also had a special guest at JV last night. Mr. DeVries talked to us during our council time and gave us a great illustration of how sin has separated us from God. We saw how this sin keeps us from communicating with God because He is sinless. And we saw and heard how Christ came and took on our sin and paid for it by dying on the cross. But he did not stay dead, he rose from the grave, God accepted the payment. And now by placing our faith in Christ and in His finished work (not our works), we can once again have a relationship with God and communicate with Him. It is not because we are worthy but because we are washed by the blood of Christ. We now have the righteousness of Christ and God sees Christ's righteousness in us. That is an awesome thought.
Thanks Mr. DeVries for giving us a great picture to remember this. By the way if you were not at JV last night and you want to know what type of illustration was used, ask one of the other JVers, a JV leader, or Mr. DeVries to find out. Lets just say it was a wet illustration.

The CBC Salon...
So the reward for the JVers winning first place at quizzing was that they got to color Mr. Mulligan's hair. And the timing could not have been better because Mrs. Mulligan had also given the T&T girls a challenge early in the year. If they brought a certain number of visitors they could color her hair.
Well what a coincidence...it just so happened that both of these things happened within a week of each other. So last night was the moment we had all been waiting for. The CBC salon was opened for business and the results were...well you judge for yourself.

Hey JVers...We're Going Bowling
This Friday, March 10th, the JV group is going bowling. We will meet at the church at 5:30pm for pizza and pop and then head to the bowling lanes. We will bowl from 6:30 til about 8pm and then be back at the church and finished by 8:30pm.
Make sure Aaron knows that you are coming to this event, and make sure you fill out a medical release form and bring it with you. Please also bring $4 with you to help cover the costs.
Hope to see you Friday night ( and of course on Wednesday at JV).
Congratulations Quizzers!!
Our Journey and JV Bible Quizzers represented CBC great this past weekend at the Awana GameQUEST Bible Quizzing. Our JVers actually won first place in the Sprint competition.
This was CBC's first year to participate in quizzing and I was very impressed with what I saw. And now we all know what to expect...so we can be better prepared for next year.
Thanks to all the kids who participated and put in hours of study. Thanks also to all the parents and folks from CBC who came out to root our kids on. It was really a great encouragement to see you there.
